Born in 6 September 1972, Idris Elba is also known by his name Idrissa Akuna "Idris" Elba. He took birth in Newham, London, England and made his career as a British television, theatre, and film actor. He spent his earlier years in East Ham. In the year 1986, he started helping his uncle in his wedding-DJ business. In the span of one year, he started his own company. He attended National Youth Music Theatre for burnishing his acting skills. In the year 1995, he portrayed his first role in Bramwell.
As an actor, he has become part of a number of projects. Some of his most prominent works are Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, The Human Contract, Prom Night, Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls, 28 Weeks Later, The Unborn and American Gangster.
He also portrayed prominent roles in television. Some of the renowned are Absolutely Fabulous, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, The Office, Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1 and Sometimes in April.
