Biography
Irrfan was born on November 30th, 1962 in Rajsathan, India. He did various memorable character portrayals in several big screen projects. In his acting career, he has been honored with several awards for his acting in several silver screen hits. He studied acting from National school of Drama. In 1995, he married Sutapa and has two children with her.
Irrfan started acting profession at the age of 26 with the movie, Salaam Bombay, in which he acted as a letter writer. After four years, he worked in a show, Chanakya and played the role of Senapati.
In the same year, he portrayed the role of Rahul in the film, Drishti. In 1991, he appeared in the movie, Ek Doctor ki Maut, in which he did the character of Amulya. He received an award for his character. In 1994, he appeared in a very popular series, Chandrakanta.
After three years, he portrayed the character of inspector in the movie, Private Detective: Two Plus Two Plus One. After getting success from this role, he played various characters in several movies. Gunaah, was his another movie, which was released in 2002 and he appeared in the role of ACP. He received an award for this role.
In 2008, he appeared in a Hollywood movie, which was also an Oscar winning movie, Slumdog Millionaire and his character was of a police inspector. In 2009, he did the role of Billu with his co-star Shahrukh Khan in the silver screen, Billu.
He portrayed the character of Wasiullah Khan in the movie, 7 Khoon Maaf, alongside with actress Priyanka Chopra. He did the role of Paan Singh in the movie, Paan Singh Tomar, which was released in 2012.
