Biography
Kangana Ranaut, the fair and bubbly Bollywood actress, took birth on 20 March, 1987, in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The names of her parents are Asha, who’s a teacher by profession and Amardeep, a successful businessman. She completed her early education in Dehardun, and then after having a brief tryst with college life, she relocated to Delhi to try her luck in modeling. She was roped in by the world-famous Elite Modelling Agency in 2003.
There was no stopping her, when she moved to Mumbai with dreams to make it big as a Bollywood star. Soon her charm bedazzled the eyes of the filmmaker Anurag Basu, and he didn’t take long to cast her as the female lead for his much-ambitious silver screen project, Gangster (2006). The film clicked at the box office and fetched rave reviews from the Kangana-besotted critics. She followed her debut success with a solid performance on Woh Lamhe (2006). Anurag Basu again put her as the female lead on his critically-acclaimed movie, Life In A Metro. Kangana went on to rub shoulders with the numero uno actress of Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra on Fashion movie, which hit the theatres in 2008. Fashion depicted both the bright and the shady sides of the world of glamour. Her performance overshadowed others and presented her with a Filmfare Award and a National Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress.
Her last blockbuster movie was a horror-flick titled Raaz- The Mystery Continues, where she was seen alongside Emraan Hashmi.
